Video: Hunting Deer With a 1911 Chambered in .45 ACP

Hunting deer with a pistol is a lot like bowhunting. You need to be really close.

Handgun hunting is usually reserved for magnum rounds or things like 10MM. Those rounds have enough enrergy to reach out to at least 100 yards with a well placed shot. In this video Michael Cantrell, of Wicked Wild Outdoors, harvests a buck at close range with his 1911 pistol chambered in .45 ACP. He had to wait for the deer to get within 40 yards of his blind to ensure it was an ethical shot. Watch the clip below and click here to watch the full episode.
