From the folks that brought you such gun filled hits like “The Sopranos”, “The Wire”, “Boardwalk Empire”, and “Barry” are making a reboot of Looney Toons. However what would a reboot be without some political correctness?
The beloved character famous for “hunting rabbits” with his trademark voice of making “R’s” sound like “W’s” and a shotgun never too far from his hands. However HBO has decided that that is no longer politically correct. They decided the character can participate in cartoon violence with the TNT explosions, and use of ACME gear of the anvils etc. However it seems his first choice in weapons in the short shown below is a scythe like the grim ripper coming after Bugs Bunny.
Seems a big hypocritical to ban guns, but using of the explosives as canons is okay. Poor Yosemite Sam, what in tarnation is he going to use? Also wondering if they will keep the speech impediments that made this characters so beloved.
One has to wonder if they will also remove the cartoons from putting soap in one’s mouth, you know in case someone thinks it’s okay to eat a Tide pod….again.
HBO bans Elmer as we know & love him and his antics so WE can do without HBO & its sponsors!
One of the most idiotic things I have ever heard. I grew up watching him and never thought about using a gun on someone. This is all about control.
